Hello all, I have a 2010 night rod special and when i take my hands off the bars it pulls to the right. This is my second bike as the dealer replaced the first one with the same problem. When i picked up this second bike i was told that this one does it to ' but not as bad '. I want to know if any other members have this with their bikes? I have been contacted by HD AUST and they said it is normal for this model to drift right. The bike is in the workshop at the moment getting 'adjusted' and i cant wait to get it back as i really like it but im wondering if the two bikes are from a dud batch?. Also i purchased a Thundermax and D&D fatcat and they are fitting it for me whilst it is in getting looked at, they have contacted me saying that they dont want to fit the Thundermax as it is an aftermarket ECU. Just want to know if any other members have had any issues with warranty on their bikes with a Thunermax fitted and if any other night rod specials pull to the right when you take your hands off? Thanks.

That sucks, poor bugger feel for ya. New bike and nowhere to ride, its wrong. its usually us here in Vic that have to cop the rain!! And do you have the stock pipe on as that is the reason i was told that it pulls right?

Nice Rab looks tuff mate, mines the denim paint too. i look at that pic and it makes me hang out for it back. I'll be buying tyres in six packs the way they smoke em up off the line, full revs and dump the clutch...they are an ANGRY MACHINE

And welcomed from the other side of the world as well. Welcome to the forum!  Ever consider the weight of the exhaust as a factor?  Might throw your sled a little bit off balanced?

welcome mate, you must feel as though are on a roundabout, pulling to the right like that.

It appears that some vrods are notorious for a fork stem nut adjustment after getting the bike. If your front end is too loose, it can amplify the balance by drifting to the right.

    Welcome Fuzzman,

Looks like there is a central issue with the NR pulling to the right.

Good luck with it all - just give it a fist full to conteract and overcome the right pull

Thanks again for all the welcomes including the USA members, i think you guys may be on to something regarding the exhaust making it pull to the right. And i dont think its decelleration of the motor Rab as it will still do it when cruising in top gear at low RPM.  And i'll be sure to give it a fist full to conteract the problem, i dont need any advice on that!! I get it back tomorrow so i hope with the D&D on ,it will ride straight, as its a bit lighter than the stocky exhaust. Its interesting to note that my mates bike doesnt do it at all, i'll post the findings on here so if any other members have the same problem at least you have a guide as what it is.

    Welcome Fuzz.

Be suicidal to let go of the bars on my trike. Pulls every which way, even backwards when I'm riding up a hill. Has a mind of its own.

If they all pull to the right, I suppose your bike's normal.

Hello all, I have my bike back and im VERY HAPPY to say that it is tracking dead straight, it seems the exhaust  had a lot to do with it . I havent spoken to the service manager as they were flat out and the adviser wasnt sure what they did as far as adjusting things were. But i will be calling tomorrow to see what they found and how it was rectified. The dealer was harley heaven in melbourne and i cant say enough of the service of Wayne the Dealer Principal there, he is a top bloke and wanted me happy and went out of hes way to make sure i was satisfied. I will never go anywhere else for my bike from now on. As i have written in the previous posts it was the bike not the dealer i had the problem with so a big Thank you again to him. They also put it on the dyno for me after they fitted the pipe and put in a K&N filter and it put out 117.9 hp at the wheel. Needless to say it really  made a huge difference to the way it went stock. Also thanks to all the members who have offered advise about my bike, it was much appreciated. I will find out the adjustments made and let you all know.

Welcome Fuzz hope you enjoy the forums and stay safe. Now for your problem i think all bikes pull one way or the other also the camber of the road could have a lot to do with it and sorry about my spelling.
