Hey guys n gals, im in the early stages of planning a ride from qld down to wollongong area, the plan is to mainly hug the coast down and return via the blue mts and an inland route, what i need help with is, #1... places to stay, biker friendly pubs, camp grounds and van parks that wont mind a bunch of bikers turning up, even just somewhere to roll the swag out where the law wont turn up to move us on, #2....must do roads with great scenery ie: water fall way and grand pacific drive, old mining and timber villages as well as small fishing villages, #3....must visit places such as south west rocks area and any historical sites/area's........also i heard there is a pub in the glen innes area ( i think ) that has a bullet hole in a door from a bushranger ( it used to be a bank or sumfin ).......theres probly more i need to know but will get back to ya's, hoping to do the trip this xmas but see what happens when the time comes, any advice and help will be greatly appreciated and yes i'll be sending out invites to forum members, Cheers.
OH OH OH i found that pub with the bushrangers bullet holes, its the victoria hotel in barraba.
It would be a good idea to have a forum of biker friendly places to stay. I hate going to a ride and comin home late at night (wildlife, already ko'd one wallaby) Mainly cheap and clean motels or old pubs with the right attitude. Places where the bike would be out of sight preferably. I realize that some peoples opinions will differ with different experiences but at least it gives you somewhere to look.
Geez guy's cant thanks ya's enough for all the help ive received so far, its excactly the stuff i was hoping for and far exceeds what i was expecting, thanks a billion.
don't forget the old pacific hwy heading sth from Gosford to Berowra..... one of the best bike roads in NSW .....
