Gday all  bran new to this forum.. i have a 2002 ultra with 69.000 klms racked up. the cam gear has not been looked at yet. sounds quite (no noises) down in the cam chest area.  now, if the cam chain tentioners were worn out, do they make a noise indicating that they are stuffed? does this happen,   any advice would be great.      cheers Pricey.

I would open it up and have a look 69thou you are doing well mine went to the metal at 51 thou so you are well past your check time have heard of them going in the 20 and 30 thou bracket.Charlie

You blokes have convinced me, it.s time to have a look,   she,s going in to hospital on monday,  hope  she,s  covered with medi-care this might hurt the wallet..........piece of mind at last   YEEE   HAAA!!!!! , cheers pricey.   thanks all.

got the bike back from the  bike shop last week, inner camchain 5% worn,  outer chain about 25% worn, all other parts were in good nic...  so at 69,000 klms ,nearly all on HD mineral oil. not bad.      anyways, a bit of peace of mind now.       i did have to replace inner plastic breathers for up graded alloy ones          cheers pricey
