    Hey Ragle,

The Fuel shot is a Dobeck gen 3 but with wireless  O2 Eliminators.

Talk to Joe himself and let him explain the unit. Price is $495 and you get it direct off Big Joe's Choppers

Works great and easy to tune, made my bike into a different machine with a torque curve as flat as a tack.

    Hi Ragle,
hopefully I can answer your questions.......

    1) What's the go with this product?
    A) in simple terms it is a plug and play fuel tuner. The unit (Dobeck Gen III based) is about the size of a credit card and a few mm thicker (approx 8-10mm). It plugs inline with the injectors and is readily concealed without any issues or awkward positioning/ removal of bracketry etc.. We had been working with the PC3's for a while and getting some great performance out of  PC3. We tried the PC3 back to back with the Generic Dobeck unit and were so impressed with the unit (from both an improvement in general performance through the complete rev range, better rideability (smoother) and the engine ran significantly cooler with the standard program settings) that we wanted to find out more.

We liaised with our rep and are now distributing the units which also allows us to alter the programming which allowed us to further develop the unit for our applications. As a result, we have improved performance from the generic program and are distributing under our own label- the FUELSHOT GENIII. The units are gathering excellent popularity and results as they are simple to install and adjust. ( just ask steadythelead) Most normal improvements are accomodated with minor adjustments of the settings, while significantly major adjustments to engine build ( bigger cubes, etc) can readily be adjusted by sending the unit back to us for a change in parameters.( This is only envisaged for really serious mods) The unit comes with 02 elliminators for tidying up that end of the game.

    2) Where is it available:

    A) Currently, it is only available direct from us- email either Joe on joe@bigjoechoppers.com.au or Me (Mick) on mick@bigjoechoppers.com.au . We will be talking to dealerships and will be having a shop online option shortly. We are in NSW, Aust.

    3) How good is it?

The best answer to this question is user feedback. We were so convinced that we put our name to it. This mught explain a little more on why:

The unit does not run on a static map as per the PC3 etc but rather is load based. There is a complex algorithm programmed into the unit that determines the load on the engine as a function of injector pulse width and frequency. With the static MAP based units, you are inserting a fixed amount of fuel for the same RPM and throttle position regardless of load being applied to the engine. EG- if you are in 1st Gear or 4th Gear, the same amount of fuel is added at 10% throttle and 2500 rpm for both gears. But the load actually on the engine is very different in each gear. ie- 4th gear will have a higher load than 1st gear with all other variables as constant.

The FuelShot Gen III actually varies the amount of fuel it adds based on the load it senses. There is adjustability in the unit to allow for variations to run richer/ leaner, but in most cases you will not touch this after install unless you make some changes. The tuniing parameters are very much like carb jetting. The amount of Fuel added at cruise, acceleration and WOT can be adjusted, along with where in the load curve the changes happen. There is also the ability to have fuel added on Decel to eliminate decel pop.

There are a couple of curves on the website http://www.bigjoechoppers.com.au/Fuelshotgeniii.html These are from a recent install we did on an 04 Fatty. The mods to the bike were slip ons and aircleaner mods. As can be seen from the curve on the left, the bike was running much leaner  (Green) than the stock command settings (RED) of 14.6:1. The curve on the lright is the results after the install. Clearly, the bike is running in a better range and will run significantly cooler as a result.

The unit is also supplied to the original purchaser with a 2 yr warranty.

    4) Who to kill?

    A) This may be a subjective question....let me see.....I can think of several people..

seriously though, as STL stated the units are $495 plus shipping. This applies for units with 02 eliminators. Units without 02 eliminators ( pre 07 softails/ tourers and pre 06 dynas) are $450 plus shipping. Units for metrics are also available.

Hopefully this addressed your questions, but should it fall short, please feel free to email me and I will be more than happy to explain in much more detail.

Ultimately, the right choice for anyone is an individual perspective and as long as the person is happy with the outcome then happy days.

     Kind regards

    Hi Jilli,
as Thrus7er says, it is really easy to adjust for the user. no computer experience necessary. It only needs to come back to us if the engine is modded so far that the fuel requirements are outside of the parameters set in the unit. We can adjust this to tailor to individual needs. This is only envisaged in the extreme cases of major configuration changes (highly unlikely for 99.9% of users but available if required).

    Cheers
