I have a 2009 Fatboy which has the original Dunlop on the rear which has reached the tread wear bars after 10,000klms. When I bought the bike the dealer told me I could expect to get between 6,000 to 8,000klms out of the rear tyre so I am pleased to have gotten 10.000. I am now wondering if I should stick with the Dunlop or is there a better tyre that will give me the best combination of performance & miles. 

I like the avon cobras for wear and grip

Cant beat dunlops in my opinion. They sell em on em for a reason. Ive tried avons before and hated em.. Guess its each to thier own when it comes to tyre choice. I wouldnt be looking for another brand if your used to how it feels, it held on well, and you got 10,000k's outta it. Id pretty much call that a sucess all round.

Damn I got 16000 k's on my Dunlops. I got a Softail Deluxe, generally I ride easy, with 70% high speed straight line.

Try a lopdun SP Sport 7000A/S. Good for a few hundred round trips around the island. Hell, bike week was cold not a tit in sight.

i just put a new tyre on the rear of mine.......

i wanted the avon cobra but could not get one in the size i needed until july.....so that was out of the question

i ended up with the dunlop elite3.......have only just scrubbed it in, so i cannot say to much about it yet....

will know more after this wend.........
