well looks like a photo ,thats some of the steel work that was welded to the frame when l picked it up in 08 on the way to bike week,
its a1957 rigid frame(panhead) ive cut all the webbing off re-welded all the faults & replaced lugs & bracing etc that was missing , but ive left the neck as it was,
cut n raked.. ill try another photo soon see if l can put it on with this entry....

fat pete, its the photo, theres plenty of 2pac there,,
Finished the fork legs last night, removed the powder coat with 3 sesions of paint stripper on the lower legs,& a buffing wheel in the hand held electric drill,
the left side had dampner bushing missing,
copied the right side & turned a newy up the lathe, all good now, complete with fork oil added, & a new set of seals...
just waiting for the brake drum to show up then will fit the front end & rear wheel,,

they are origonal left side drum brake lowers with the fender tabs removed, & 4inch over tubes,

the 6" guard wasnt even close to the tyre radius, put it in a sash cramp heated it up , its very close now,
the wheel needs to move back n forth. so some margin needs to left..
l dont know about the chrome horse shoe either, its got the chain guard mount but l dont want to cut it off,
ill be running an open 3" primary..
also using a hydraulic rear brake as opposed to the origonal mechanical one..
l bent n welded the rear struts up took them to a chrome place in sunshine $20,
there a bit gruby in the photo,
swaped the gearbox main shaft for the correct lenth one,, needs a few more parts & a polish..
im giving it away for a while now, got the easter break to get ready for...

its a roller now, polished up the crudy looking gear box housing a bit, looks good enough, an old bates seat on it l had ,that needs covering & l will use it, few more chrome blingy bits, covers ,linkages, brake pedal,etc..
welded up some threads on the inside of the rear guard so's its easier to mount..cut,bent,weld,head light bracket thats going to need chrome..
front brake & clutch cable are made up ,brakes a bit long but ill re-do that when ive sorted the correct adjuster..
lots of stuff to make,, ill start the wiring loom next l think??get that in place,,
handlebars arn't much chop but i can change them later ..
its not a show bike ,

Havn't felt like doing much on it lately, Did paint the tanks & rear guard, put a set of origonal shovel decals id been saving on the tanks, l think the orange goes with the gun metal grey ok.
The motor is empty cases at the moment on loan , just to mock up all the bolt on bits, so's l can get all the brackets, cables, wiring, etc in place, without rubbing, bought a heap of the correct colour coded wire ,nuts, bolts, circuit board material & all i''ll need to do the job, instead of purchasing a wiring loom kit & all the other associated parts at 4 times the price, & since its a bit of a custom it doesnt need to be cloth covered as per origonal....also bought some dot approved braid lines for the rear hyd. brake,,  making that one up in 2 pieces with a T  for the B/light switch...

Looking sweeeet mate, that 55-57 frame is a rare one too. The badges for 66 to 71 looked like this, very similar to what is on

    Cheers,

    Cris.

Evo. l bought a raw 6 inch flat guard, when l put it on the bike with wheel fitted it looked like a scramble bike ,sat up at the back about 5 inch off the tyre, l wasnt sure what l was going to do about it, just tried the sash cramp & gas bottle torch, heated up both sides of the guard, the round edges, didnt bother with the top cause its flat, kept even heat to both sides as much as l thought, wound the cramp in about 65mm . worked out perfectly, another 10mm or so the sided would have started to ripple, so its gunna depend on the shape of guard you start out with, & how much bend you need.. but the method works well,, id have no problems trying it out on any guard , what have you got to loose???
