Got some bits n peices ready for the build,
sure it needs some work,,
ive got most parts ready to go..
its not happening, im going to have to get some help to show the photos, ill be finished the bike by the time l get them up ,, ive gotta go out now ,ill have another go later,
hang on a minute this could be a photo,, if it turns out hope its of the bike not something else...
its a roller now, polished up the crudy looking gear box housing a bit, looks good enough, an old bates seat on it l had ,that needs covering & l will use it, few more chrome blingy bits, covers ,linkages, brake pedal,etc.. welded up some threads on the inside of the rear guard so's its easier to mount..cut,bent,weld,head light bracket thats going to need chrome.. front brake & clutch cable are made up ,brakes a bit long but ill re-do that when ive sorted the correct adjuster.. lots of stuff to make,, ill start the wiring loom next l think??get that in place,, handlebars arn't much chop but i can change them later .. its not a show bike ,
Havn't felt like doing much on it lately, Did paint the tanks & rear guard, put a set of origonal shovel decals id been saving on the tanks, l think the orange goes with the gun metal grey ok. The motor is empty cases at the moment on loan , just to mock up all the bolt on bits, so's l can get all the brackets, cables, wiring, etc in place, without rubbing, bought a heap of the correct colour coded wire ,nuts, bolts, circuit board material & all i''ll need to do the job, instead of purchasing a wiring loom kit & all the other associated parts at 4 times the price, & since its a bit of a custom it doesnt need to be cloth covered as per origonal....also bought some dot approved braid lines for the rear hyd. brake,, making that one up in 2 pieces with a T for the B/light switch...
Hey Kickinon, man, that is a sweet ride mate. I'm enjoying watching the transition. Credit to you
Looking sweeeet mate, that 55-57 frame is a rare one too. The badges for 66 to 71 looked like this, very similar to what is on
Cheers,
Cris.
Evo. l bought a raw 6 inch flat guard, when l put it on the bike with wheel fitted it looked like a scramble bike ,sat up at the back about 5 inch off the tyre, l wasnt sure what l was going to do about it, just tried the sash cramp & gas bottle torch, heated up both sides of the guard, the round edges, didnt bother with the top cause its flat, kept even heat to both sides as much as l thought, wound the cramp in about 65mm . worked out perfectly, another 10mm or so the sided would have started to ripple, so its gunna depend on the shape of guard you start out with, & how much bend you need.. but the method works well,, id have no problems trying it out on any guard , what have you got to loose???
