The majority of people I talk to say May is the best month. Just after the road has been graded and way before the road has copped a flogging by trucks and tourists (me?) I'm thinking 2012 would be a more realistic date and suits anyone that wants to go. Organizing their work/jobs well in advance. Plus I've gotta get a bike going from the ground up and I'm not rushing this one. By this one I mean, I, with lots of help, rebuilt my '84 softy for the 2003 Homecoming Tour to the states (HD's b/day bash) .. I got the bike going 1/2 hr before I had to crate it, get it on the back of my L/rover to the freight yard 1 1/2 hrs + drive to mackay to be picked up from there then on to Bris then onto the ship. I done about 10k's (ten!) I rode from the bike shop to my shop,got the wifes b/card,back to the bike shop,paid the bill and started crating the bike,in the sun, with cunts from the bike shop watching me bust me arse, without lending a hand. They new I had a deadline to meet. Somethings you never forget. So this sporty I'm "fixing up" will have the cobwebs sorted out of it way before her planned destination. It's been fun already chasing bits and stuff, bit of a headache from not knowing what I'm doing, but learning more about skirtsters while I plod along.Yadda Yadda Yadda Yadda...............................................................

Absolutely nuthin organized yet. Once the yorky sporty is up and running,that's when the trip planning will start to happen. 2012? At this moment, the cases are getting done locally at Mackay. Time is slow and so are the $$$'s....
