HOG South-East Asia Trip, June 4, 2010

    I realise that it's very unlikely that anyone here would be interested in anything outside of good old Oz, but for those who have seen the light and are not so scared to leave home then this would be a fantasic trip. Worst bit is that you would need to rent a bike out of Singapore at about $160 a day for a Dyna for about 10 days.

    Starts in Singapore on June 4, 2010 then heads to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Hat Yai, Thailand and on to the amazing Krabi. Some amazing scenery and great roads.

    Mate a 40ft shipping container to Singapore is less than 2K...im sure a tiny part of that for a bike is much cheaper. FYI look into carnet de passage permit. Maybe even ask the HOG guys in Spore

    Tony, I would KILL to be in Phuket for next month but, sadly, work is full on right now so I can't make it. By May our winds have mostly gone so I can relax a bit!

    Just checked out the Carnet de Passage stuff if I want to take my own bike to Singapore and onwards. This is just so much shit!!

    My bike's worth 40K so I have to put up a cash guarantee or a Bank Guarantee for $60,000

    OR I can make it simple by paying an Indemnity Insurance Premium for the AA of a mere $1200

    PLUS an "Issuing Fee" of $400

    PLUS a Bond of $250

    So, the minimum actual cost is $1600 which is the same as a Dyna from Singh HD at $160 a day for 10 days.

    If I went the way of the Guarantee I could be in serious shit if my bike was nicked. I lose a $40,000 bike AND my $60,000 Bond!!!!

    If this sort of shit happens in other Government Departments, which it does,............ like Family Law, then it's no fucking wonder why pissed off people bomb government buidings!!!!!! I'm remembering Oklahoma City......as an example.

    I'm thinking of moving to Indo where at least you can bribe the c*nts!
