On the Nomads right to ride run I had to pull over to wipe the condensation out of my glasses. I was using the yellow ones as it was a bit dark for sunnies but they kept fogging up. Is there a home remedy or can anyone recommend a product to stop the fogging. Might be a bit of an ask as we went from really hot to really @#$%ing chilly, maybe that is a lot to do with it. Had a great day anyway
I've got a product at work they reckon works well. It's called Fogtech. They're individually sealed wipes in a box. I haven't tried them though. I'll grab a couple of packs and see how they go. We also have safety glasses that come in a kit. They have a foam insert to stop the wind and you can swap the arms for a strap and swap from smoke lens to a clear lens. I use these for riding and they do a great job. Also come with arms with LED's if your working on your bike. Roughly $70 but I'd have to confirm it.
I'll let you know how the wipes work.
Yeah mine are uglyfish, which I have used for about 6 years now. I know about spittin in my swim/dive goggles but I dont know about spittin in my sunnies. I was hoping there might be a home remedy like rubbin hot grapefruit or ur nannas blue socks or something. Thinking about buying a product designed for scuba goggles and see how it goes. Any other ideas appreciated thanx to all. Burnzi
Living up here in the tropics its a daily event. Every morning the glasses fog until I get moving. There is nothing on the market (although they all claim they can) to stop fogging.
I had a site visit from the Uvex safety glasses mob from Sweeden and they cannot find a solution to glasses fogging in extreme conditions like we have up here. Walk out of an airconditioned building into 95% humidity and you can't see a thing!
Best thing you can do is have air movement. The gaskets around the Ugly fish and the like glasses compound the problem. Air flow is the answer.......and it costs nothing!!
Hey Magilla,
If you like PM me your postal address and I'll send you up a couple of the fogtech wipes. You can let me know if the do what they're suppose too.
Cheers
Before you head out put a small drop of detergent (standard dish washing type) on the inside of each lense and wipe it around until it's clean. Obviously leaves a light film which for some unknown reason prevents fogging up. Works for me anyhow.
Agree on the shampoo; locals showed me SELSUN BLUE was the anti-fog product to use on the inside of car windows during the Victorian ski season.
Not sure why it works but it does.
