So if you buy a new bike, say 30k worth, do they give you 3k discount down the track? don't see that happening, or is it parts only?

Supply and demand!!!! They overcharge cause they can.. I learnt early on they DO NOT value your custom. In the USA everything is fiercely competitive. Competition is good for the consumer, not so good for the vendor. I have bought a lot of stuff off E Bay from St Paul http://stores.ebay.com/St-Paul-Harley-Davidson-Buell and direct (thanks to the good folk on this site) M & M Cycles Ohio. https://www.mandmcycles.com/homepage.htm
    Good luck!!

Those cards are only for individual dealerships, you can get one card per dealership but each card only works in its assigned shop. Thats why they call it a loyalty card.

yes you can own more than one card at a time and yes the cards are issued by harley and the dealer. The cards are still assigned o a single dealership and are even labelled as so on the card. the idea is to keep a customer loyal to a shop. At the end of the day, if your loyal to your dealership and consistantly buy parts with them and get your bike serviced with them, you win because the points will build up meaning you can redeem them for a greater credit when needed.

Hi, I recently got a new V&H full system, tuner and Stage 1 air cleaner on my Heritage Softail at Sy's HD in South West Sydney. I was quoted $150 cheaper for the same supply and install at Fraser HD in Western Sydney. Out of loyalty I went to Sy's. After having the parts supplied/fitted and $2900 later I enquired about the rewards points for this. I was told at Sy's HD they don't do that any more and that this is a direction from "Head Office" (wherever that is). He said all dealerships will be following suit very soonh. I checked with Fraser's the next day and they said they don't know anything about it. I feel I have been dudded. Not only would I have got the same thing $150 cheaper off the bat but I would have accumulated some kind of reward points using Fraser's.

This is for anyone else who may be considering spending a lot on your bike at Sy's. Following with interest the posts on purchasing from O/S and these are much appreciated. I might as well get on that as loyalty ain't worth much these days it seems.

Have good Christmas and New Year.

I have shopped only at Sy's for 8 yrs, when I bought my FLHT in 07 from them when they were at Moorebank. I went to use my freedom card last month there and was told the same thing, head office has stopped it.

I had a feeling it was bullshit. 8 yrs of being a loyal customer didn't pay off too well did it. Might be time to shop around.

Well the "Freedom MIles" reward scheme is a goner... I was at Fraser, Sydney on Saturday (19/12/15) and overheard an experienced staff member instructing a new one that the points are still being given but are being "phased out we just arent telling them"....I take back what I said about Sy's it all of the stealerships in Australia... so internet shopping looks more attractive than ever.
