G'day everyone, Hope all is well for all, just trying to find some sort of registrar for authorized harley mechanics.I live in Kalgoorlie and there is a bloke here who claims he is authorized/qualified yet he always seems to be f#$cking me around and costing me $$$. The only hassle is I have to travel to Perth or Bunbury to get my bike serviced etc which is 600kms so any help I can get would be muchly appreciated, even if I can find out this bloke is full of shit which I think he is.

    Thanks for your time

     G'Day Harry,

There's more than one dude in Kal that services H-D's.

One that I'm thinking of runs a dyno, and even though he is a long time registered motorcycle repairer, he's not H-D authorized.

(he's OK for stamping warranty/owners manuals)

He knows his stuff with tuning and re-mapping, and can access applications and data for most  tuners apart from SE/H-D gear.

PM me if you want the info.

    Regards,   Kev.

The warranty is intact so long as a "qualified" mechanic performs the work, and uses parts that meet the specs
"qualified" as in has a trade certificate, whether via apprenticeship, or recognition
You are under no obligation at all to have your motorcycle serviced at the HD dealer
However..........If you have an issue out of warranty, then they will likely deny you if you have had your service work done elsewhere
There is no such thing as an authorised harley mechanic, only authorised service centres, commonly called dealerships
If a halfwit works there, his work is covered
If a brilliant non qualified mechanic does the service work, and you need warranty that could be said to be related to that work, the work is not covered
