Picked up my new 2008 1200 Sportster Custom yesterday, on the ride home i thought it rode a bit harsh which I put down to being new, checked the tyre pressures this morning, front 34lbs and rear 40lbs.

I went through the owners manual but could not find the recommended pressures, can someone help me with this.

Also I was following a mate home in his car, he said he was driving at around 103 kmh but my speedo was reading closer to 110kph?

After looking more carefully i found the tyre pressure in the hand book, 30psi in the front abd 36psi in the rear. According to my gauge both were 4psi to high.

Did you remove the extra 4psi?

If so did you notice much difference in the ride?

No I have not taken the extra 4psi out, but based on thrus7er comments and the fact that the Harley shop delivered it like that I will leave the pressures as they are.

Thanks for the comments,  i will drop the pressure to the hand book recommendation and go from there.
