Nice job Damon, they are some great shots.  The last one with the swiping background is great, is that a trick shot?

    Damon,

You have an awesome bike there and they are some great shots. Hoping to get an Iron in a couple of months once monies are sorted. Loving your stripped down, factory yet modded look. Your bike and attitude towards the new harleys is the reason I am making it my first road bike. Love the Dark Custom Iron.

Yeah, these shots are all photoshopped to some extent. The green wall is actually brown in real life, while the background of the riding shot has been blurred to reduce clutter and enhance the speed.

Hey Kornstar, I hope you've placed a deposit on an Iron already. I saw Frasers yesterday and they reckon the waiting list is at 20 Irons now - which means the wait is around 9 months!

Damm Damm Damm Damon stop it mate this wait is killing me, roll on Monday 3rd of May cause then i get mine.

Mate could you do me a favour and measure the distance between the fork legs please and the diameter of the forks them selves. Hopefully you have a vernier.

I need to check if the springer forks i have the drawings for and have been building for some time will work.

I need to check my upper and lower triple clamps before i start machining

     PS the photos are great

    Bruce

Don't own verniers, and even if I did and gave you the measurements don't you think you should measure important stuff like that yourself?

Do what I did. Take a note pad and tape measure (verniers) into your Harley dealer and measure a Sportster that's in the showroom. They won't mind at all. The fork dimensions are the same for all Sportsters only the spring length changes to reduce the front height on the Iron s and Nightsters.

Noticed you have pillion pegs, do you have a pillion seat that bolts on?

Outstanding. What are those rear shocks?

    Thanks guys.

I have a Badlander seat for when the missus wants to ride.

The rear shocks are Road King 'low' air shocks which bolt straight up with a couple of washers. They are 12-inch eye to eye compared to 13.5 for the stockers so they offer a handy 1.5-inch drop plus you can add valves to stifen the ride for carrying heavier weight blokes or a pillion.

The ride is rubbish, but I can;t compare to the stockers as they were flung after less than half an hour of leaving the dealership. Face it, cool low looks and a comfy ride just don't go hand in hand. If you're too heavy then maybe consider a bigger bike...

What's the full size of the first pic? I wouldn't mind a copy to add to my desktop wallpaper rotation :P

hey cordie, yeah there are so many to choose from!  Not sure which ones damon has but I ended up going with a set from macs fabrication in the US.  $63.50 AUS including postage.  I went with these because they have the tabs on them which go through the axle adjuster nut to hold in position and for added strength.  I have seen some variations on this and there are even ones that dont clamp anywhere except the shock bolt which are not very strong and have heard of them failing on some people.
