Howdy peoples i have a 2008 FXDL (LowRider) of which i have screaming eagle mufflers fitted,I am a bit less than happy with sound and was thinking of buying a set of vance & hines Big shots staggered.

Does anyone know how the sound will compare against my SE mufflers and if i fit the quite baffles to the V&H will i have a better sound than i have now?

Plus would i be cop bait in W.A with the vance & hines fitted?

I do understand you loses a bit of power but that is no dramas for me.

Any help would greatly be apreciated.

    Cheers from the wild west.

Mate, i have an 09 lowrider also with SE mufflers.........long story, but to cut it short i was able to slip S&S baffles into them, giving it a much better sound and a lot less restrictive........please don't quote me as i am not an experrt, but if you fit vance & hines with baffles you should gain power..............am pretty certain that any after market exhaust in NSW would blow the db (noise) limit......you just have to be carefull where you wind it out. S&S slip on mufflers would be a cheaper alternative as you keep your stock header pipes......all depends i guess on what you are wanting to achieve.

Hey Braando thanks for your input as it is truly apreciated.I really dont have anything against the SEs,but some mates of mine said it sounded so lame of which has afffected me a bit,Especially saying it sounds like a suzuki.,not that i really give a shite about what people say, just that i realy like the look of V&H pipes.
I just think they show the lines of the dyna far better than the standards, but that is a personal opinon of course.
I had S&S on my sportster and it sounded mint. But the SEs to me (A matter of Choice)just sound to plugged up like they have asthma.
I have looked at the monster baffles from http://www.bigcitythunder.com/pages/soundperformance.html
But again it is hit & miss as you really dont know if they will work or sound much better, plus they are not that cheap..
    Decissions Decisions.,
Again many thanks for your input.

Go on, you know you want the better looking, better sounding pipes. You won't be happy until there's a set of  V & H BSS's hangen off your ride.

Get the quiet baffles after if ya reckon she's too loud as they come.

Wrist management will be in order at the appropriate times but it'll be worth it for the grin that'll be on ya face.

Ya only live once, enjoy the show.

V&H are great pipes but LOUD even with the quite baffles which are just longer baffles with fiberglass wrapping - they are great but you have to be careful around the boys in blue - they WILL fail any sound test. However I have heard really good reviews on Big City Thunder Baffles - they deepen the sound of the pipes and remove the bark. Can get them for your screaming eagle pipes or for the V&H. There are a few example of them on you tube.
