I know this isn't Harley related but i am wondering if you guys can make any sense of this. I am selling my Kawasaki Z1000 in the Trading Post and this guy from China sent me the following email -  Hi, thanks for the swift response. I am actually buying this for myself and will want the shipment handled by my shipping agent but no worries as i am going to be responsible for the shipping bills. The item is going to be picked up by my agent after i have made the full payment via pay pal. All i will need is paypal account email so that i can remit the funds into your account as soon as you email me your agreement to this process. I will need more pictures in your next mail as i wont be able to come and check out the item.I reside in china but i get fascinated by products from abroad because it costs some fortunes here and hope we have a deal. Once again, your fast response will be greatly appreciated so that we can complete the transaction sooner.  This does not make sense to me but if he is putting the money into my Paypal account what can go wrong ????

RT, do you mean once the money is in my paypal account it should be ok or should i wait the few days it takes to transfer the money from paypal to my bank account ?? If i have the money how can he rip me off ?? I have the bike. I don't really think this is legit but can it do any harm to give him my email addy and see what happens ?? If he then asks for my bank details i can then tell him to fuck off.

Pete, if you arent walking real fast in the opposite direction, I hope its because you are running.

You cant honestly believe someone in China will purchase your second hand motorbike from Australia sight unseen. All of these goodies are shipped in via Russia, overland. Nothing comes in by sea, as it will not get through China customs.

Just forget the email ever happened, and sell it for real money in Australia, where you can take the cash, shake hands, and watch the bike ride down the street.

I respect all the advice but i am now curious. I suppose what I'm asking is, if I only give my email address to the buyer and "nothing else" can he use that and that alone to fuck my life up ??

    Pete, it's a scam !!!!!!!,
they pay paypal with a credit card, the card is a dud, Paypal shows a payment has been made but the money still isn't in paypal yet because of the delay with money transferes , they have someone pick it up before paypal dishonour the payment and refuse to pay you, there is a very slight window for this all to happen , but believe me they know it and have the whole scam worked out .

No Flan I'm not fucking thick, if you read my posts i have stated more than once that i don't believe it is legit. So flan are you fucking thick ?? I don't have any intention of giving anyone my bike until the money is safely in my bank account, and i would only transfer the money from paypal to my own account and would never part with my bank account details via email . Keep your insults to someone you are standing in front of next time.

Pete, Pete, honestly, I think he has made his point.

Quite simply, I get this hollow feeling when people say "I am about to be have my pants stripped off me and get raped by some foreign fucker, should I let them do it?, Im curious what it would feel like?"

Just don't, you will regret it. Those guys with the WLA's earlier nearly got ripped for $13K and more. You will get hurt. Some things you should just walk away from, and this is one of them. And forget what anyone says in the internet world, sometimes things need to be overstated to be understood. If you were a mate of mine actually in a pub having a beer, Im sure my first words uttered would be "are you a fucken dickhead". But since Im not in a bar having a beer with you, I wont say that, as you may take it offensively. Just think how your mates really talk to you in the bar. They do talk like this, but they are usually laughing and you tend to laugh too.

So, are you going to delete the email and forget it ever happened. Hope you do mate, as I hate seeing people burnt by arrogant fuckwits in foreign lands.

I get the picture guys but i would like to know what their next move is ?? As i said Trev they are not asking me for bank details, my name or any other personal information yet and I KNOW IT'S A SCAM. But, i would like to know what their next move is after i give them my email because at some point they have to make an excuse for not being able to transfer the money or they will send me a dodgy paypal email as earlier info pointed out. I just thought if they can't use my email addy by itself for anything sus then it would be worth finding out how and where they go from there to try and scam me ?? That way we have info to help others in the future that get the same offer. Anyway you have all made me so paranoid that i no longer have the guts to give them my email address. So I'm gunna have dinner instead. Hey Dave, where do you get those smileys ??

life was so simple before fleabay..... living and working in UK used to have Nigerians rock up with briefcases full of cash.... I mean hundreds of thousands of pounds. They had to wait whilst the bank checked every note though
