G'day all I just bought a 2004 XL1200R great bike I just wonder are there any other owners here on this site I see many postings about the Iron and Nightster and a few on the 883 and 1200 custom all great bikes because they are all Sporties but I like to see a few Roadster owner's saying g'day so are you out there cheers.

Here is a older photo of my bike not all the mods a shown, since I owned it I have added a Sundowner seat, 4 inch risers, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, custom grips they give the bike a lot more comfort on rides now also have a few more idea's in mind when funds allow cheers.
Thanks John for the photos you don't see to many 1200R's on the road let alone the same colour as ours also John what seat and shocks did you put on your bike some of the best money I spent on my bike so far was for the Sundowner seat and Progressive rear shocks I can now take my bike on a decent ride in comfort and whoever designed the original seat for our bikes should be shot that seat = a wooden plank but all fixed with the Sundowner fitted cheers.
G'day John have a close look at the Sundowner seat I got it from my local Harley dealer the price was $415 but I asked for a discount and got it for $370 and mate very happy with this seat I feel I could do a 500k day trip with this seat fitted and still feel good also the Progressive shocks are the 412's they are good value and work well and I am no light weight size wise I got the shocks and fork springs delivered to my door from the States for $435 AUD cheers.
finally got this photo thing worked out 2006 Black Cherry Roadster
The secretary has nearly got the hang of this shit
Updated photo's taken today
G'day Choco, sorry about the delay but just haven't been near the computer. Bike & brace are dirty but you get that lol.
The highway pegs....at 1st I didn't like them because when fitted as per instructions they stuck out from the bike to much so a tiny mod & I left out the 50mm spacers job done.
Yes your right the derby cover is from the "willy g" skull series. Front forks were painted 2 pack black (brides still got the shits with me for using the oven to bake lol she reakons that the cakes are just not the same, tastes like a panel shop smells lol)
New wheels & back sprocket were a want not a need.
Now the fork brace (looked at many) didn't like the screaming eagle haven't seen 1 that the chrome hasn't lifted on. Went for the "ultimate fork brace" from the internet exit states. They are of a very good grade alloy, choice of colours & finishes & actually made for the 1200R. (my preference was the anodised black gloss). It has made a noticable difference, an improvement of 10% I reakon. It feels different it feels.........solid/chunky um I don't know how to explain it. It doesn't follow the cracks in the road as much & you definately don't have to push as much when counter steering & a definate improvement in front tyre life.
As you can see my bike is a bit of a pet, bought it new to to ride it.......50,000k's later & I still love it.
My last bike was a 86 evo sporty had over 360,000 on it....pikky above of the old black beast, also my brides 07 low. Yes we love the sporties!
Keep your knees in the breeze
Cheers AJ
My wheels were an optional extra on the 06 roadster and a standard fittment on the 06 883R (american) The irons are all black with just a silver strip.
Ok AJ last question for you hopefully, the new rims for your bike did you get them from a Harley dealer or of the net somewhere and if you don't mind ne asking what was the price of them cheers.
