Need help on this one (or am I going around the twist)

Today received from US vide FedEx genuine HD Bullet Turn Signal Lens (Smoked).

The rear lens and bulbs were replaced like a treat - no p[robloemo whatsoever.

However, I get to the from indicators pop off the old orange lenses - remove the clear indicator bulbs.

Try to put in the new orange coloured bulbs and they dont fit.  I examine the old clear bulbs and notice that the two little nipples that turn alnd lock the bulbs in are different to the new orange bulb nipples (no jokes please) -  the new orange bulb nipples a off set more then the clear bulbs I removed.  A

Any ideas

You need to get two replacement bulbs for the front indicators.  The front indicator kits that come from the U.S have dual filament bulbs, you need single filament on the front (like the rear).  Get a couple of single filament bulbs from the dealer, should only be a couple of dollars.

You could temporarily use your old rear bulbs on the front.

It's a bit of an annoying trap, you would have actually been better of buying two sets of rear indicators as they would have fit both front and rear.  Did exactly the same thing myslef.

I believe I had the same problem with my Dyna... Unfortunately I have thrown out all the packaging so can't give you any part numbers..

Try this: Remove one of the orange bulbs from the front and see if it fits in the back. - The kit I received had two different sets of globes. - The Fatbobs have the same globe all round. - This may be the case with yours or you may actually need the two different sets of globes.

Simple fix... duck down to your local Automotive store ( SuckerCheap or Autobarn ) show them the clear bulb you removed and get them to give you a matching one with the orange lens... I was amazed to find that my local shop stocked the orange bulbs - Narva have a full range and one of them will suit.

Assuming the indicator installations are different in Oz when compard to the Yank version.

File off 1 of the nipples.

I got my kit of 4 from a HD dealer and before they handed it over they whipped out 2 of the bulbs and stuffed in 2 others cause the yanks have combined signal and brake lights, watch any yank movie, their brake lights are allways flashing at intersections

Oh yeah, Burra, mate I forgot to tell you, you need to get two sets of rear smoked lenses as the front globes will come with two filaments, cause the yanks have the orange as running lights/blinkers combo on the front. The rear is standard one filament. Suits both front and rear.
