Yeah I bought my Fatbob from Mackay HD and I had no problems with them, good service and they looked after me when I flew over to take posession and even arranged shipment back here.   I don't know if it still applies but apparently HD Aus have a policy of you personally going to the dealer to sign for and get the bike.  I also did some negotions with the dealer Horsham untill they sold the bike from under me, but then I hadn't paid a deposit because i wasn't happy with the price.

Harley CITY in Melb usually do the best deal.. here..

Don't forget Oh Gnomeness that when ya buy a new bike ya gotta ride it, not hide it......

I got my Softy from Peter Stevens in Adelaide after Frasers told me it would take 6 months to get the bike. As Piggy said, you will have to fly over to take delivery and go through the dealer delivery so I organized to do that on a Monday morning and they boxed the bike up in the arvo and it was on the truck Tuesday. I unpacked it on Friday and rode home that afternoon (5 days).

I used a mob call Bike Transport and it cost about $400 plus $200 for the crate which turns out was the same one that it came in from the states. I should have squeezed the dealer to throw in the crate as part of deal.
Not sure what it would cost now as it was done in Nov 2008. I organized insurance with SGIO and the bike policy covered the transport to Perth so I saved money by not using the transport companys insurance.

Licensing, Peter Stevens licensed in their name for 3 months and told me that all I had to do was take the paperwork to Dept of transport and it would changed to WA. Unfortunately that is not the case so the bike went over the pits. Apart from the time off work, it was a piece of cake.........brand new stock bike.

In all it probably cost me an extra $500.00 but I got the bike 2 weeks after I decided to by a new one rather than waiting 6 months from Frasers.

I found Peter Stevens ok to deal with and one of the guys from work went through the same exercise to buy a Fatty 2 weeks after me and had no issues either.

 Dazza, for what it's worth, I've just done the same exercise on price and availability from the East and ended up doing a deal with Frasers in Perth.

 

Couple of the East Coast dealers were actually a few hundred bucks dearer off the floor ride away than here in the West.

 

GSM in Albany quoted a couple hundred less but couldn't supply what I wanted straight up.

Frasers ended up throwing in a few goodies that  would have cost me that anyways.

They also did an exceptional deal on supplying and fitting pipes and air when they did the first service. 

Hey, and offered me coffee, asked if I wanted to leave the skid lid there, and had the original pipes and fruit all boxed up for me at pick-up time.

 

 

 

 

Daz, bought a fat bob from Morgan Wacker, 2K less than Frasers in 08, rode back ( no sooky crate home). Same with the Ultra from Peter Stevens Dandynong. Vic. Bothe done better deals than Frasers and the savings paid for the rides home.
