Hi all. Couldn't find an introduce yourself thread, so thought I would post this instead.

Another newbie to the forum, and yes, another iron 883. Its on order (arrives May ) and I am already getting impatient. Current but soon to be replaced ride is a Ducati Supersport, so the Harley will be a real change of pace. At least the Harley wont damage the tackle every time I ride it. Have some great ideas on mods from others on the forum here, so look forward to getting into it.

    Cheers, TC883

Thanks Pistol. Been perving on your ride re wiring mods and tank lifts...... Love those DIY mods that clean things up and keep the old skool theme going.

The wait is a killer, but the result is worth it. Love my Iron.

Why wait? Peter Stevens in Adelaide have them on the floor ready to ride away. Fly in, ride home.

TC you will love this ride. Waited six months for mine and it's the best thing I ever bought. When I told the dealer I'd probably trade up in 12 months he laughed and said "You'll NEVER sell this bike". He was spot on. If I want anything else it will have to be an extra one, not a replacement. Well worth the wait.

Its just a regular black Harley top clamp I got on Ebay for $15. Nothing special. The idiot lights are held with double sided tape, again nothing special. I personally believe that the Iron is a budget bike and that throwing vast sums of money at it (especially Aus prices for Screamin' Budgie crap) is totally against what this bike represents. I've decided to mod mine with the cheapest solutions possible and, hence, won't throw thousands in the bin when it comes time to sell it. If you must buy expensive parts like Vance & Hines exhausts then get them on Ebay USA for $300 plus shipping as opposed to $900RRP here. Same goes for things like forward controls, bars, etc.

Well, it finally arrived last Saturday, a couple of weeks early! First attempt at posting photos so wish me luck:

Mostly stock for the moment - I am having too much fun riding to do anything else.

Looking at it, it definitely needs lowering at the rear. The American spec bikes sit so much lower, and look better for it. Only problem is I am already scraping the crap out of the foot peg doinky things around corners. ..opinions?
