I'm running an 07 Softail with K&N highflow a/c, Sonic slipons, PCIII, dynotuned by Brian at Eastern Big Twin. Ran like a dream for about the first 12months. then one day I pulled up at traffic lights after coming off a steady freeway run and the idle dropped off til it was going to die. I kept it running and it settled down again. This same thing then happed a few more of times more over next 12 months. So far it has not done it consistently for a great lenght of time, usually comes good. I've just done 5000km over the Xmas break. In Qld I filled with Shell and the bike ran badly. When nearly empty it began idling high (like 2000rpm) and back firing badly. I refuelled with BP 98 octane, checked the crank angle sensor for crap (it was clean) and off we went. Running good again. But I am still getting occasional terrible backfire and no idle... like it will die. Bike can be running OK. Pull up for a hour or so. Bike runs like crap when you leave. Next day bike is fine all day. This happened at the A&B bike show last weekend and I was running BP 98 octane. Any thoughts on where the problem may lie? Dave
