Hello everyone,
Name is Dave and I'm from North Carolina in the US. There are lots of bikes in this area and The Great Smoky Mountains. I figured I would join and get to know some Australians. You guys always seem to have a good sense of humor and funny stories to tell.
Dave
Welcome mate
I rode in your neck of the woods in 08 very nice area
Nice...........i spent a couple of days in Maggie valley checked out wheels through time bloody great place
Thanks guys for the warm welcomes. Yes...the scenery and roads here in North Carolina are pretty sweet! It's always nice to talk to people half way around the world with the same interests. I have lots of pics and stories I can share so I'll have to start some new threads and "fill you guys in"!
G'day Dave.... only been in NE; NW; SE and SW parts of US.... need to get back sometime
Welcome to the forum Dave was over in your neck of the woods in 1991 on way to Daytona had a ball.

Marz
Planning to go the ride from Murphy NC and ride Nantahala gorge to Bryson City NC, next year, what is the best time of year in your opinion?
Thanks again everyone. Marz...Are you in Australia? If yes, where are you flying in when you come to NC? I can't imagine Murphy having much of an airport. haha Have you ever been to this area? It's huge mountains and small towns. Do you plan to rent a harley?
Anyways, I'd say it is best to come in June or September. July and August gets pretty damn hot. May and October is nice as well but it does get a little cool up in there. Even in June it is considerably cooler at high altitudes in the mountatins than it is in the valleys. Thunderstorms pop up regularly and unexpected sometimes but this is just part of the experience.Let me know when you are coming and I'll drive up there to meet you. Hell, you can fly into Raleigh NC and I'll escort you there. haha
I'm gonna post some pics that I have in another thread of my trips up there. Hold up....
welcome mate enjoy...
Welcome Dave you will get plenty of info from this site, never been to you part of the world but hope before to long.
G'day m8 & welcome ... A m8 of mine just moved from NC over to Moab ... lucky bastard ...
G'day Dave
