Police blitz

Does any one know the goss on the Police Blitz's around the Canungra area on weekends?

Heard from a mate that it is flat out for the next 12 mths on anything with two wheels. The Japper sports have been mostly to blame on the mountain roads for the crack down and they have really given us all a bad name with the way some of them behave. Not all but too many.

One retailer has moved out of Canungra because of the lack of bikes in the area on weekends. Two weeks ago every one was stopped up at the top of Beechmont for breath and all checks except about 25 HD's riding together.

The local food spots are going to hurt big time because of lack of riders through the town. Guess they will converge someplace else to spend their dollars.

If you didn't know then be prepared. I am told it is going to get a lot worse.

I haven't heard of a blitz ín 'Nungers' but now you mention it there does seem to be an 'increased presence'.

When I rode into town for Sunday brekkie two weeks ago a Copper coming from Canungra hung a U-ee and followed me in the last two kliks. Whilst having brekkie I saw Police bikes several times and the aforementioned car doing constant laps through town itself. The car Copper searched two blokes and their old Falcon outside the park on the main drag. All high vis stuff.

But as I said, it didn't occur to me until you mentioned it. In my experience Police sightings in Canungra are a random experience at best so maybe your right on the blitz.

he might have been trying to warn you about a brick on the road or something mate. I dont have a problem with the jappas as I understand the bloody things go like shit out of a shangie. As long as they make bikes that stick to the road like glue and accelerate like missiles your gonna get guys taking em to there limits. the problem is the riders limits arn't the same as the bikes limits in most cases. I remember my old Z900, it didnt handle but I still thrashed the thing everywhere i went. Even on my Harley im often over the speed limit when I look at the speedo. Cops are just about guaranteed to get results on those roads every time they point the radar at a bike. makes sense for em to go up there. its the tour busses that swing wide from around blind bends that I have a problem with.

Could be going the same way as Mt Glorious.
I wouldn't call it a 'blitz', the coppers are just always there!
    Keeping up a regular presence, I s'pose.

If I see cops on the opposite side of the road I'll wave my hand in a downward motion,It means the cops are up the road/slowdown if ya are speeding, got warrants out, fines etc. ie side street exit? Be fucked if I can tell how fast someone on a bike is going in the opposite direction,I don't care. I might ride a tad slower now but years ago I couldn't give a truckload of fucks, like most of us young fella's then, and I still don't. But I ride cautiously now,got a family to think about. Let em go Pete, they'll learn the hard way, sad to say. (.)(.)

There wasn't a brick on the road Swifty and he wasn't trying to tell us there were cops ahead, (I usually make a circular movement with my finger, like a siren, to show cops ahead). We spoke to some riders further up the road and they all said he was trying to slow them down. I suppose ya get all types. I should also say that there are obviously dickheads on sports bikes out there as well, but regardless of what type of bike a person chooses to ride, it is ultimately up to the rider to decide what chances he is willing to take. If you ride a bike you can die by making a simple mistake and that is a choice every rider has to accept. The thing that pisses me off the most is that the law tries to convince everyone that they are only looking after our lives when they continually fine our arses, but the truth is if they cared in the first place then 160hp bikes wouldn't be available to buy. How can you buy a bike with that sort of power and ride like a nancy ???? This is supposed to be a free country and yet it has become one of the most regulated in the world. We make our own choices and as long as young drivers/riders are on the road there will always be someone pushing the limits, that's just human nature. But, there have got to be better ways of saving lives than taking money from people then expecting those same people to respect the law. Teaching everyone better riding and driving skills + having better road conditions would be a great start to convincing me that someone cares about our lives. Maybe the poms have the idea ? I saw somewhere that an organised group is smashing all the speed cameras over there, now that's a career that i would like.
