Street Bob vs Fat Bob - How do they compare?

    Howdy All,

I've had my 2008 Street Bob for bit over 2 years and definitely like the ride. I have however, been thinking of changing it up a little and going to Fat Bob. Twin discs, possibly better handling, etc.

Has anyone here owns/ridden both and can compare them for me? Which one would you take and why?

    Any info would be appreciated.

    Cheers

    Vlad

No possible about it, the FatBob is the best handling big twin in the Harley range (and only betterd by the XR1200 in the entire range).

And this can even be improved upon by fitting propper road tyres and ditching the semi blocked patten as fitted at the factory.

I prefer the semi drag bars fitted to the Fatbob as well.

The Streetbob is one fine bike, but you wont be making a mistake in switching if that is the way you want to go.

    Regards Lofty

    Hi Firey ,

yep there a a few seats around . one i found was i think C & C custom seats in the US. they state it brings you forward about inch and half .......

And  with a bit of back yard engineering , the forward controls could be modified

that was my plan of attack , but the Streetbob came up out of the blue and was too good to pass up plus new Fatbob was a 6month wait

hi ,i recently baught a new fat bob and i am up grading the suspention as i found the original to soft, and the handling of the bike  just not up to scratch, not to worry ,i read other forums where other owners feel the same and they have oppted for progressive springs and shocks as a replacment  over  the standard  setup and they have found this to improve the handleing  of the bike, thats  about the onley fault so far i have only owned the bike a couple of months, but i like it and intend doing more mods later,,some forums say changing fork oil will help?easier sad than done as there is no drain scews on forklegs!!i i think it comes down to personal chioce so buy what you like the most ,because there is allways going to be somthing you dont like and you will change or improve it to your own personal taste,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,cheers from the ROAD RUNNER!

I went down too buy the fatbob , took one for a test and found same has others legs too short , plus was told 6 month wait so came home with the street bob , like others straight away did'nt like the rear suspension so ganged to progresive springs , now need to go for heavier oil in the front .

I have the 09 Fatbob I am 5'9 and have no problems at all with the forward controls,

fitted progressive springs, and Avon tyres, the difference is amazing,

Also fitted Thundermax with auto tune, Bub7 slip ons and a 103 kit,

for any seat modifications i recommend Jason Skinner in Adelaide 0421366034
