It' ll probably be a car dealer who knows fuck all about bikes who'll end up getting it , based on a financial plan that looks good.  HD seems to have stopped caring about  the " dedicated customer needs" some time ago with their corporate mentality. They have shown nothing but  greed and arrogance for the past years and  have now overcommitted themselves. When they start looking at people who passionately care about the bikes for dealers instead of wanting to maintain an "upmarket " image only open to people with lot's of available funding, things may look brighter. I deal with indies and country dealers when I can. They major dealers are arrogant thieves. End of soapbox rant....

I went through this process quite a few years ago with W Fraser and W Lee. Be prapared to mortgage the house to the hilt, sell the kids, sell your life and the misses and anything else you have just to open the doors.

Someone mentioned 1 mil equity, I reckon that needs to be in the wallet to start with.

Unless requirements have changed, a good size main road building for display, a good size workshop, then stock (parts, murchandise and bikes on the floor, staff etc) is required.

Thats just part of what needed to be considered back then. We just could not afford to do it.

It would more than likely be an established business. like Willing's or Central Coast Motorcycles if they are still about.

Maybe things have changed now though?
