Hi All, hope to get a quick reply on this if possible as I want to order a new windscreen before the weekend.

Can someone please tell me what the factory OEM windscreen height is for a 09 Ultra? I think it's 10" but need to confirm before I order. I'm at work and heading out with the family for the weekend straight from work so can't get home to measure it..

    Cheers-- much appreciated.

    G'day Rowie,

Thanks for posting back. I too checked the catalogue and saw this but believe that 12" is not right for the 09's as they raised the batwing a touch starting in 09. I see it states Standard-Height Windshield but not sure if that is correct for 09. Sure it would fit but I reckon it's too tall. I had a 10" on my 96 FLHT and I was looking over the top of it as one should so I think I would be looking through a 12"...

I'm happy to be corrected on this though, and thanks again for your input. Guess I will measure mine next Monday to be sure. Will let you know the outcome.

    Cheers,
    V2

    G'day Rowie and all,

and for anyone that's interested, here is my take on measuring actual windscreen height on late model tourers. I want to order a new screen and wasn't sure what the factory height is for the 09 touring models.

Last night I was able to measure it and here is my take on it:

measurement from the top of of screen to the top of the outer fairing lip = 9" (228.6mm)

overall measurement from the top of the screen (removed from the fairing) to the bottom of the screen = 11" (279.4mm)

I reckon this is the correct way to measure-- from the top of the screen to the centreline of the middle mounting hole = 10" (254mm)

Therefore, I will order a 10" screen as the correct OEM fitment height for my 09 Ultra. Probably useless info unless you want a direct fitment to the OEM screen.

If anyone has better info on this please post...

    Hi

According to the '09 Parts Catalog they come standard with 58324-97 Windshield (Australia, England HDI, Japan) this for FLHTCU, FLHTC AND FLHT. End of story.

Thanks Bob, I'm getting an aftermarket screen and wanted it the same height as the OEM, hence the needed measurement.

Hi V2          10inch is std  I think they do a 13 inch, I put a 15 inch on my FLHTCU.09 acouple of weeks ago coz the wind sheer was wearing my teeth away.  Felt like the guy on the worlds fastest indian. The 15 inch was the only one I could get at the time. Looks ok from the side and the front but it feels f@#$%*g huge from behind. Happy Hunting. Two Tone

Two tone- thanks for your reply to this. The height is critical so I can match the height on the OEM without working to cut it down. I've ordered a 10" from Long Ride Shields at:

    http://harleyshields.com/details/

Click "Promo" to see their new X-streame contoured screen-- If it's too tall I can cut it down from the bottom as it's a recurve but just wanted to get it right without the hassle....

My old 96 FLHT had a 15" on it and I was looking through it so I cut that one down. Not hard if you take your time and measure twice...

    Cheers!
