Machining rotors

    Hi there

My first post! I have a 2003 Anniversary Fatboy and just bought a front and rear wheel complete with rotors that had only done about 18,000 klms. I want to keep the original wheels and rotors stock.

Bought the wheels to send off here: www.motorcyclepolishing.com.au to get them polished.

The rear rotor has very light scoring, but before I refit it I'd like to get it machined or ground, if that's what they do. I've checked the thickness and it's still at new specs and I figure about .010" off it would do the trick.

Can anyone suggest a good place to send it to here in Victoria so that it's done right.

    Cheers

    Hi there

Thanks for the welcome. Found this place that specialises in disc brake rotors for motorcycles.

The business is called Planet Disc and they are in Victoria. Phone: 03 9801 7067.

Prices range from $65.00 to $95.00 depending on the work. They guarantee the results.

    Cheers

    Hi

Hey, thanks for that. I agree. I  would rather use a "new" polished pair that get it machined. I'll check tonight and see what's available. With Aussie dollar so strong against USD it's definitely a better option.

    Cheers
