To be honest, about all I like is the lower profile seat, and the new speedo / headlight mount.

I'm indifferent about it, as in I don;t know if I'd swap the Iron for it. Probably not. I do think it is cool as any Harley that gets away from the boring old chrome everything style is great by me.

As for price? Well, while I know Harley have never been shy of charging a solid price for anything, there's no reason why this should cost any more than a Nightster. There's nothing on it that expensive in any way to manufacture. I'd assume around $16000 plus on roads - surely?

Just a few weeks away from putting my order in for the Forty-Eight - It's taken me over 12 months to decide which bike I'd like to move up to (taking into account everything that appeals to me in a mbike) - When I saw the HD48 I just knew this was it!
Has a test ride on a 1200 custom to get a feel and I absolutely loved it!
Taken all the pros and cons on board, made a decision and just can't wait to ride it.
Have a few custom changes to make but that's going to be half the fun.
Looking forward to meeting other HD Ladies on a few runs in WA so just a quick post to say Hi :)

I just picked up my new Sporty 48. Awesome to ride and looks great! Just a little disapointed in the mileage. My fuel light is on around 70k's which is hardly enough to get to my next town. I know the peanut tank has obvious limitation but Im wondering if any 48 owners have made any mods to improve the milage.

My maths tells me Im getting about 12.96k's/litre on premium unleaded. Is this mileage expected for a 1200 Evolution?

Any ideas to get me further down the road? At the moment, its completely stock standard.

A note on mileage. My Iron 883 went from around 110 kays per tank to 150 kays per tank after around 4000 kays of riding as the engine finally loosened up. That's a whopping increase in mileage so expect the same increase from the 1200 after its run in.
