Just plan your stages and makes sure they are not too long on the twisty/scenic bits as you'll want to enjoy them.

In general discussion there is a bit of info on a ride i did but feel free to ask any questions u might hav.

Geelong to Warrnambool puts you on the out side close to the edge... 4 a better view..

Going to do the GOR on the way home from Tassie in November. After the Pub Run..I remember going along it as a kid with my parents but not much of it. Can the Melbourne -Mt Gambier be done in a day?

Just make sure you assume there's a cop around every corner and another one in front of you and a third one behind you. The little bastards will get you on the GOR if you so much as sneeze. On top of everything else, they're now cruising up and down on unmarked bikes (I've seen two different types of unmarked BMW's so far) with the police lights hidden behind a bat-wing fairing.

+1 with Pig and Rocker on this one Steamer.

You have to start slowin down man - you make me uncomfortable.

When you are around I have to keep riding outside my limits - ffs.

with the jacks enforcing the 80kmh speed limit along all the good twisty bits, I recon the GOR has lost it's magic..

You're absolutely right Woza. I don't even bother going down there any more - not since I lost another three points last summer for doing 72kmh coming out of a 60 zone near Lorne. 12k! It's a SLOW JOG!

Well Anzac weekend just gone , we left on thursday forcecast was showers too rain heading east , so donned the wet weather gear took off,got by Tailem Bend stripped off, too hot  and the weather was great  sunny aprox 30 , got too Hamilton great day good ride.

Left Hamilton for the GOR  left in the drizzle  within a hour  facking torrential , end result  we had the roads to oursdelves , no tourists , no cops , just heavy rain and two guys fanging it having fun. Wet weather gear in that rain is'nt worth a wank but  after a long ride in it on great roads , that facking hot shower was well getting soaked , rest of the weekend burning up victoria great , but the highlight  definetly the GOR in the heavy rain , almost has good has the flinders in the rain last year  with no wet weather gear .

And too think i spent years refusing to ride in the rain , all wasted
