Has anyone got the formula for denim black in 2 pack? Ive tried the US  PPG code LG 913102 and all i get from my local paint supplier is some sort of gloss charcoal! and then he tries to tell me that denim black is a gloss colour FFS! Ive got some flattening agent coming but i feel that this is going to be a long and painful process trying to manually match the colour. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

had same problem with Pewter Denim mate.... even went to the extent of buying genuine HD touch up in two pack but it is obvious that there is a hell of a lot more than meets the eye to using their solution

l dented the tank on my black denom streetbob about 3 years back , harley paint in any colour is very hard to match,
any way l ended up using matt black , single pack
l masked up the good side (tank off )
sanded the damaged side enough to get good grip from the grey etch primer,
filled the dent, etc ..etc.. etc.. with the tank ,dash panel .back in place you cannot tell the differance between the 2 colours unless you know its been repaired,
HOWEVER !!!! since i didnt use a 2 pack,,, when l clean the tank its got a bit more of a shine to it now..
im going to purchase matt black 2 pack & re-do it at some point when it gives me the shits more than it does now..OH 1 more thing,,when you but the matt black next to the black denom for colour comparison, the denom has a slight licorise colour about it, very very slight more like a liqorice block green/black...when you've been chewing it a bit.. that colour...

You could take a chip of paint since some hardware stores color match - they even match any fading your original paint may have suffered to get the best match. That only applies if you're spraying the bike with an air compressor though... I'm sure some stores color match better than others, using some kind of computer generated match...I wish I'd listened harder when I was told about it.

Take ya bike down to the Spray Painters and see if they can match it? Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose.

     G`day

i ended up matching the colour myself using the first lot of paint i had mixed (gloss charcoal) (1 part), gloss jet black 2 parts, this got the colour about right then i just kept adding flattening agent until i got the finish i was after. What a pain in the ass, it took 5 goes to get it right. Next time ill just send it to the crashies i think.
