I need tyres for the 09. Again. 22000 ks. Last time I had to buy D407s because there wasnt anything else available. Thats not why I am cranky tho.. I ring Frasers. Nothing in stock. Nothing available for a month. Told him I didnt want a 407s, must be 408, he said that the tyres arriving from the states had mostly been 407s. Looks like the old 407s that no one wants in the USA are being dumped on us. So I dont want 407s, I ask about Metzlers. Dont sell them. So the D407s will be a month, he quotes the price (exxy) and wants $120 to fit them. I offer to pull the wheels off myself, he still wants $80 for fitting with the wheels off!! Basically he wants to charge me full price for rubbish tyres that are old stock and then charge another $120 to fit them. So I ring the guys at my local BMW dealer. "Can you get Metzlers for me tractor??" I give him the sizes i want. "Sure, have em here Tuesday." How much to fit?? "You pull the wheels, we fit em for free". And the metzlers are about $70 cheaper than the dunslops.. I dunno why I call the stealer. Its a waste of time.
The Bike Dr on Scarb Bch rd charged me $90 to fit the rear on mine in July. From now on I will pull the wheels myself and take them in to where ever quotes me the best overall price.
Yeah Frasers aren't much chop here in the west. They even kicked up a few years back when someone else wanted to start another dealer ship south of the river, guess thats not happening now. Bit of competition would be good for them and us, also save me going to Bunbury as well.
I understand that Fraser's Harley Heaven in Adelaide will not work on bikes that are over 10 years old. Imagine my brother-in-law's surprise when he purchased over $1100 worth of chrome accessories for his 84 Fatbob, to be told that the workshop will not fit them because his bike over 10 years old.
