Hello ladies and gents,
New to the forum.. Been lingering in the background since around November time and thought i'd say g'day from the nations capital..
New to Harleys and new to bikes altogether having spent most of my time wasting money with Rotaries, Evo's and the alike.. been wanting to get a bike for years having some experience riding.. having alot of my friends hopping on R1's, Ninja's, GSXR's and what not, thought i wouldn't follow the fad and try something different.. And along came the Iron 883
Did extensive research before purchasing in regards to Harleys in general, the 883 it'self etc.. Mind you the ad kinda did help with convincing myself.. Loved the look the Iron seeming i never was much a "bling" person but knew i'd still would be modding it.. Quick run on mods so far, V&H Shortshots, Screamin Eagle HB, Whitewalls with a computer and progressive shocks for the rear on order..
And here it is soo far.. Apologies for the shitty quality photos that's the iPhone for you..
Big thanks to Chopperworks ACT and Gary @ Capital Harley Davidson Orange.. Highly recommend both these stores for any needs..
Well hopefully i'll run into some of the canberra riders.. not literally.. you know what i mean
Stephen from the ACT
welcome to the forum reaper good ta see you didn't go a jappa too many them pricks on the road,ya scoot looks sweet as like the tyres been waiting for my front whitewall for 5months they have been on backorder, are they continental tyres or kings tyres ya got?
Thanks for the kind word peeps
I had the white walls done on the standard dunlops.. i have a friend who recently purchased a white walling franchise and wanted to try it on a motor cycle.. I aswell was placed on backorder till feb for dunlops but thought the worst that could happen is that they look poo, sand them off and wait till feb.. Done on the bike and having the V&H Short shots, nothing had to be taken off for applications.. They turned out fine, rears were caked on abit but practice makes perfect so next time i get them re-done we know the drill..
But yeah! they'll prob fade with time, crack etc but they will see me through till end of summer.. after that the bike will hibernate and wait for next spring and then i'll get em redone for nothing.. win win imo

Looks great Reaper. A one-off. Like you I find it easy to ignore the Iron or Sportster knockers because the Iron such a brilliant ride.

nice scoot mate... but them tyres
Hey peeps.. just a quick update..
New flat drag bars with internal wiring, red grips with joker end mirrors, joker speedo relocator, standard seat retrimmed in marine vynil, smoked indicators, progressive rear shocks, powder coated rear sprocket, dropped front fender.. i think that's it so far.. oh wait i ditched the top chain guard too haha
Just quick snaps before i'm on holidays.. Cheers!
Stephen
Your bike is different but in a good way I have always had shiny bling my bikes but now I am trying to steer away from the bling thing on the sportster that I own now and I have set up for more comfort on the road than show but the one thing that stands out on your bike is the rear pulley talk about been bright red you can see it from a mile away lol did you power coat it or paint it.
Because mine only has factory bits it is pretty close to stock but I NEVER go out on it without drivers giving it the thumbs up. What bargain. HD should apply a wow-factor surcharge (don't mention it to them).
