DAMn now we talkin.. STURGIS.. if planned correctly isnt there a short gap from sturgis to daytona bike rally ?.. YEAH definate.. count me n the hand brake in.. although..i could let her stay at her parents for a few weeks ??.. nah she will sniff it out.. evil sinister thing she is.. best if i take her along.. that way you lot can listen to it and put up with her.. hey who says i dont share.... we looked at SEATTLE HD about a year ago and they had a deal for a softail fatboy, with panniers full insurance for 1 x month unlimited k's $2400usd.. which back then would have cost $2975aud at the current exchange rate its nearly 1 for 1 so if anyone is serious, start swapping some money over to us coin, I have a cunning kitty..she dont know about.. its not much .. but we were going to do CANADA, grand canyon, Mt Rushmore, Niagara falls, harley factory tour, and visit a few friends we have over there.. unfortunatly my job changed... so why not..plans have now been solidified.. 2010 USA llok out here come AUSTRALIA'S FINEST

Just don't underestimate the size of that country :) Still if you do major miles in Aus, it shouldn't be too dramatic.

My time in North America didn't see much on a bike - I was too young for a licence for the most part though I've two wheeled around LA, handy to have in that place.

Careful of the Wild Hogs cop around Missouri if you take that route ;)

    Hi

I look like going and have been checking orginized tours with rentals as I have only 4 weeks off.

I am waiting for Heavy Duty Mag to get back to me with 2010 Sturgis prices, would be nice to be on the run with Doc from Heavy Duty Magazine.

This is a PDF document from Elitest tours worth a look at , it works out cheaper to take the missus with you than leave her at home;o)) http://www.eliteset.com.au/tours/2010/2010sturgis_web.pdf

Ill be there for sure! wasn't going to book a package, just a flight and throw my self right in the deep end. Buy a lemon and have a good ol'time! meet lots of mechanics on the way.
Anyone know anything/anyone in the Importing trade. My plan was To pick up a couple while i'm there and bring them back to Au but im getting lots of mixed views... "tax free open trade agreement" or "your in shits creek unless you break the thing down into 100 sodding pieces!" Anyone have any advice?

In a bit of a rut here,

I wish to purchase a couple of bikes in the states next year, was heading over a few months early and gonna enjoy a bit of touring EXECPT, im being told by the "DMV" it cant be done????

I cant figure out the loop hole to register the bike in the states without

    a. A fixed address in the the states

    B. Liability insurance Coverage (which i cannot get without a history/US drivers licence)

Im sure some of you have done this before, anyone have any advice?

    Cheers!
