    It seems biker paranoia is alive and well in Tassie. If you get a chance have a look at this story, http://www.themercury.com.au/article/2010/01/15/121685_tasmania-news.html

    If you read the comments you'll see it's the riders vs the non riders. It starts off as a story about a funeral ride where the riders didn't wear helmets, and turns into a bikie bashing spree. It seems the association laws apply here as every person who has every ridden "a bike that makes such a loud noise" must be a criminal. FFS!

    they'll find an excuse to raise revenue....even at a funeral. Don't understand this thinking, coppers want respect then show some FFS

    Helmets were made law to supposedly save lives, not raise revenue, and at a funeral, the only danger is to fall off and get run over, but hang on, the following bike would surely see you and swerve...looks like the "greed" factor has effected Tassy too, or maby some coppers are pricks everywhere, anyway condolences to the family and RIP to a brother rider...

    if i recall correctly , the practice in NSW ( not wearing helmet ) was fazed out in the early 90's
