hi, it would not be too hard to reshape & C.C the heads to suit what you already have + can polish chambers & exh ports etc + the piston crowns while your in there , but 1st dummy run check valve to valve & valve to piston clearance for clarance otherwise he won't be too happy ,
hi stix, stick the barrell on the head & turn upside down & scribe the bore into the head surface then work it out were to add flow or unshroud around inlets , you will lose squish area & comp ratio but gain in flow & cly fill when the motor is going @ a certain rev e.g. on the cam you can afford to come down to 11to1 C.R. for a very hot streeter with 640 cams ,top ring gap should be @ near max about 0.023" a bit of race clearance on & big engine is good i only like somethings tight
stix, what do you think the cranking pounds pressure will be?
i think i have 11.5 comp in my 95 cranking pressure is 240 pound
hi , before you stick bigger valves in her do a valve to valve check 1st on the bench with the cam spec you are thinking about using as a dummy run , otherwise you could run into clearance problems & be only able to use a smaller cam than you wanted , is them heads from that shop R&R in QLD that spruk off on here on the forum a bit ?
hi, sorry iv'e never heard of the brand iam i missing out on good info cheers ? those heads sound O.K. but still look for valve to valve clearance before cam choice, i like to try & keep up too info for engine performance , as i'am not too young but like to keep the younger fellows honest this is the main reason why i like this place ,
Great reading, keep it comin
Stix
What are the benefits of those mistfree breathers over stock (just a question for knowledge)
Yep seen it with me own eyes, shinny build less heads on engine stand, top quality stuff........Fark this thing is gonna smoke....
Bt
Looking good Stix!
how long before it gets to the long black Dyno?
What clutch will you use?
I,ve been useing the S&S clutch for a few years now works good no problems, but only got a 95", a m8 that had a 124 sns in softail used one too got down to 10.9, the SE clutch has failed ( broken steels )
you will need a good clutch , or you could stick to stock and use one of those VPC pressure plates they work great when set up right.
looking good Stix.... almost too good not to come back and watch you loose your licence
Nice work Stixy.....pity that Shrek is taking up so much room hey!!.......that's nearly worth $707....
I think your going to find some NICE NUMBERS on the black stuff mate.. enjoyed the build & goodies
Lookin' good stix.
will be good to see what she goes like once you get used to her.
I know i should know this but i don't spend much time in harley dealers now, but like all the new Harley, just whats a Street Bob?
Unbelievable!
Ando, looks like you chopped a Chooks head off useing these heads as a chop block
