i have used Shell V-Power many times without a problem & BP Ultimate , Mobil 8000 , Caltex 98 , i guess i put 98RON & my bike runs fine regardless of brand . but thanks for the heads up on the BP Ultimate , i shall give it ago once again .
i make my own...
yup thatsright ........and backfired it was a very unhappy bike on 98.......
got me fucked to
BP Ultimate, it stops pinging & smells lovely...
I use BP or Mobil 98 premium: reason, well like someone said, the Shell rep pointed you in the right direction.
Have a Bro who works at Shell and he says that Shell have to many detergents in it ( don't ask, I don't know what they are) but he says that ultimately it causes problems with your injectors, pots and rings. Something about scraping lubricants from oil in cylinder and therefore scoring ensues. He recommends BP or Mobil only, so thats what I use.
Beware of no name brands, i.e 7-11, metro etc they could have their fuel supplied from Shell sources.
From a pragmatic point of view, if you are on the road and you are running low, and shell is the only one available, filler up and the next tank full, go back to BP or Mobil. Just avoid it in the long term.

So what do you guys use, and why ?
(1) Good fuel.
(2) To make me bike go
Where possible I will use 95 octane/premium/ultimate or what ever is available.....If ya ride around the block in the city the choice can easily be made but in the country ya takes what ya can get......In near 50k I have not had a prob with injectors etc.....
BTW there are only a couple of refiners in this country and some imported fuel from O/seas, Singapore etc.....
Just my 02
Bt
I find this works well for me and the bike and taste good too.
It pays to have some extra on hand too, you know, in case ya wanna go for ride at short notice.
Man I think you nailed ...
BLACK LABEL
Does it matter wether it is JD or JB?
