Using Mobil1 V-twin 21-W50 in 2008 Dyna Gearbox

    Howdy All,

I know this topic has already been done many times over but please bear with me.

Lots of forums/riders and workshops recommend using Mobil1 V-Twin in all 3 holes. Even Harley recommend using their Syn3 in all 3 holes.
I am not convinced so would ike to hear from anyone who has used Mobil1 V-Twin in their gearbox and their opinion.
I also believe that viscosity rating of the gearbox oil isn't directly comparable to viscocity rating of the engine Oil. Thus 75w90 comparable to 10W30 engine oil. Is this correct?

    Cheers

    Vlad

I used to use the harley stuff in my 99 wideglide but found the gbox noisy - clunky on gear changes - mate of mine put me onto "Bel-Ray Big Twin Transmission Oil" - and so far it has worked wonders , once up to temp on a ride, gear changes are smooth as silk. i'd recommend it to all.

Problem with Redline is that our local stockists only keeps 5L container of it @ $152. Way too expensive, unless I can find somewhere a 1L container. So far no luck in Melbourne.
Has anyone used Bel-Ray Big Twin Transmission Oil? Peter Stevens seems to be stockin in right now.

HD 360 in the Donk , HD Formula + Gear & Primary oil , in the other 2 holes . i Drain all the holes every 2500km & my HD thrives on clean / fresh  Harley Davidson Brand oils .

    P.S i have used Mobil 1 V-Twin & cant justify the extra $$ , HD360 & Formula + Gear Box / Primary Oil's work just fine .
