Hi, new member from the south island of the east island checking in.  Had a chance to hunt around and the threads on here look pretty good.  Enough chit chat, best intro myself through pics.....

Current fatboy, all black and beautiful, slightly modded and more to come.  Running SE203 (to be changed come winter), changed chrome to black (pre low boy), beach bars, boards gone, V&H, mustang and the list goes on.

and the most recent addition an Iron, few mild additions, just waiting for the coin level to rise again

Yeah, kinda partial to black... slimming you know (plus I'm too lazy to clean chrome that much).

The Iron, its only 3 weeks old, but we are well past the 'run in' phase. I wanted something totally different to the fatboy and it is. It's a hoot, nimble (without huge torque but it does scoot along once you get her up), light and a great base, or not, to build on. It is easy to ride.

Down sides: I do have to say the seat is c rap. Any ride over 160km's and you'll start to figit. Luckily there are alternatives to that and it shouldn't put you off. Suffers the same suspension issues as the nighter (bottoms out in the front over street curbs) and the rear isn't much better (but i haven't bottomed out yet and I am 97 kg's), its just dayum hard. Power (read torque) is down but its an 883, it'll still brake all speed laws (and leave most cages for dead) you have so don't worry too much and again there are ways to change that. I have read some great articles here on this already.

Plus side: Its such fun to ride. You feel good, you get the HD grin and whatever attitude you want you can find it on this bike. The bike is a cheap and raw way to get into HD's or to custom.

Eddie, I don't know how much riding you have done but I can't see you being disappointed. If you are then it wont break the bank to change it to what you want.

PS, I'm 186cm and thought the bike would be too small... its not, sure I have forwards but fits me just fine.
