Hi All,

It's been almost 2 years since the site had the Private Message system installed and in all that time all messages ever sent are still in the sytsem.  To keep the site running at it's best I'm goning to do a clean out of all private messages older than six months.

If there's anything older than six months that you need to keep copy it out somewhere else.

This will be done in about a weeks time.

not very computer illeterate, sorry if its a stupid question. why can't PM's go straight to our email accounts ? would that save space.

ive been pissed everytime i sent or recieved  a pm  so go for it

I will go in a clean out the old stuff right now.

There's no need to manually delete stuff. I can do this easily for all users with a 5 minute script. The only reason I put this post up is in case people want to keep any old messages that might have useful info in them.

Again - no need to delete messages manually as this is time consuming as I can do this with a script.

it takes a couple of mouse clicks, 10 seconds tops

KC, get an upgraded internet connection, that 56k job ain't quick enough

as many hands makes light work, each deletes their own saves you time.
