hi fellows, i only weight 60kls , my 60 ft times are at the drags a constant 1. 7 sec's, i beat the big jap bikes to at least just 3/4 to just before the 1/4 mile line bepends what bike it is , i use to have a early sporty with a lot of work done to the handling dep't & i use to pray on them on a sunday or any other day thru the south of sydney coast, i use to wait at the cliffton pub for the bunch of jap bikes that look like they were having fun then finish my beer & chase them down one at i time iv'e clipped some of there mirrors on the inside passing underneath them just for fun to show them if they are not 100 % a jap bike is not everything , but i average about 80 to 95 % but that was in the 80's & early 90's its just a game thats all , jap bikes are faster now these days, i am very boardminded when it comes to bikes , i love all bikes they are all built for ther own reason in life , i have in my stable a 80 sturgis , 78 XLCR1000, 83 XR1000, 74 sporty + a 1961 sporty classic road racing bike , AJS 350 1956 clubman classic racer i use to race quite hard , 4 big early Z1900-Z1000, MK-1 ZIR as well as 2 very special TZ250D-TZ350E , the 250D held wayne gardners 1st lap record back in 1977 & is full documentation, programs sign buy wayne himself , the other has the motor from the great Ron Toombs own bike that i broght from his mechanic peter cambell they took the motor out of the bike & put a dummy empty 1 back in before it went to the bathurst motor museum, there are 4 of Toomies bike there , all bikes are great . i hope every one has a great new year , & keep it shinny side up ,
Don't think so Miker, I've got a mate with a Night Rod (i think thats what it's called) and it didn't impress me much with outright power. I opened it up all the way and it certainly doesn't get scary, where as if you open up an R1 or GSXR you better know how to ride. The motor felt strong for a Harley but certainly no GSXR beater on any road ?? Although, a jappa would struggle to keep the front wheel on the ground over a short distance depending on the rider but, put the same guy (who knows how to ride) on both bikes and there will only be one outcome. What do you call a real road anyway ??
i dont care for drag racing or racing on the street , Jap Bikes are fast without a doubt . but they struggle to keep their front ends down & 0 to posted speed limit V-Rods beat em 90% of the time
have a look at my FXR in the hall of fame . its stripped down to nothing and got a 124 S&S and if i give it everything in each gear its very hard to hang on to put it into 5th . luck ive got no speedo cable cause i would hate to know how fast im going. by the way . it would take one hell of a jap bike rider to beat it
