I drilled mine at 20mm and the sound is beutiful.
Did you notice a loss of engine braking?

Sorry to bump a very old thread, but this is for the bloke I spoke to in Corrimal on Saturday arvo. This is where I found out the best way to drill stock mufflers for a better sound. Cheers, TC
yep i did the same mod but went abit further and put 8, 6mm holes in the ends of the baffles even better to allow floooooowwwwww,got shortshots now lol!!!!
