Dlux 66 said it all we had two members go to tassie towing trailers and only one made it back  just carry your own welder and lot's of flat steel, they broke all the rear bag mounts and mudguard supports, and these are top trailers, draw bar snapped in half while doing 120 and dropped on the road after changing his undies and thanking god the trailer was replaced with another model by the maker in  QLD and told sorry.HARLEYS ARE NOT MADE TO TOW TRAILERS>

I have been towing trailers behind bikes for over 25 years now Weaz without a single misshap. We only use it on the longer trips away (over 1 week) and it makes holidays a lot more enjoyable.

You can pull up at a tourist attraction, open up the trailer, dump all your riding gear & helmets in it and secure it. Peace of mind.

It came in handy on the 1/2 lap of Aus trip as well. If you are travelling in all weather conditions (from -1 to +40 degrees) it's handy to have the right gear for the right weather conditions.

Nothing like pulling up to a camp ground and having everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Not everyone is a hotel only traveller

I have towed trailers behind all sorts of bikes, from 600cc V-Twin trail bikes, to 1800cc Goldwings. The only thing you have to be carefull of is clipping corners on round-a-bouts and corners etc etc, you have to give a wider berth. Overtaking can take a little longer, and braking times take a little longer as well.

Do it if you want to mate, don't let the nay sayers fuck your life around, there are a lot of us using trailers and enjoying the benifits.

Tow bars are available from Classic Industries in QLD, and Shadow Trailers here in Adelaide.

Feel free to PM me if you need more info.

    Regards Bob

Hi, this looks like an old thread I'd like to open up. I've got a 2016 RG and towing an Elite Camper with it.
I'm having trouble taking off, it feels like I've worn the clutch a bit.
Has anyone lowered gear ratio to help with take off. I've done a bit of research, sounds like changing primary drive gearing is the cheapest and easiest way to go. Has anyone tried it?

Listen to Lofty. I agree with him and I've towed trailers behind bikes for as long. Sold mine recently to a bloke in the Adelaide Hills with a Heritage.
