Now i know i've read this somewhere but i cant find it in any posts.  I want to put forward controls on my 95 fatboy and am thinking about the 2" extended ones but i thought i read somewhere that you need to be careful because they can hit the front fender when turning.  Is this right?  Also can you get just 1" extended forwards?  Thanks.

    Hi Wazza,
I'm not sure about 1" over being available, you could modify the 2" over I suppose.
I can tell you from personal experience that the 2" over will definitely contact the
extended controls. I put a set of 2" over on my 89 Heritage, checked clearances
and thought I was OK. I have a steep driveway and when I rode up and the front wheel
hit the bump between my driveway and the road. I was turning left, and the fender hooked
onto the master cylinder locking the front end and throwing me on a slow and not very graceful
    swan dive to the right.
I was already late for work, so a quick dive to the garage and the trusty hacksaw took 3 inches
off the bottom of the front fender in 2 minutes flat. Bugger, had to repaint anyway.

Thanks guys.  Interesting to read that the later models dont have clearence issues.  Looks like i might just fit the standard length forwards.  I'm 5 foot 10 so they should be fine ya think?

Maybe all fattys and heritage bikes after 2000 don't have issues because the frames changed.  So with mine being a 95 model does this mean i can't have the 2" extended forwards?

You can get 2" extensions on ebay.  Not sure how much they are.  I forgot that the heritage guard is bigger than the fatboy so i probably can go with 2" extensions if they feel better.  Thanks guys.
