Latest news is they lost 6 houses there today. Great Christmas present.......not!

Just heard news update, over 15 houses and another 20 odd in bad danger.

My brother was a firie for the whole of his working life until he died and he often said the thing that scared him most in a fire was if there was ant LPG bottles in there..he said that stuff was deadly whe it went of.He was a metro guy so he was talking about factories and houses ect

9 houses, 11 sheds and 5 firies in hospital with smoke inhalation. No mention of stock losses, but one could imagine

Most of these guys are volunteers and put thier lives on the line to help others

I'd like to acknowldge their effort and give them 3 cheers

Not a good day here. Took some photos from the roof while I was hosing shit down.

Flames were getting closer and the wind changed and blew all that straight towards us.

The whole town was covered in smoke and there was ash falling for a few hours.

 

Big thumbs up to all the fireys and volunteers out there today.

Bucket, not far off New West Road near Possums Deli. Haven't been here long... moved down here from Ceduna last year, but I'm thinking of buying a place out at Wanilla.

Never been to The Lodge and only know a couple of people down here. Missed their last poker run cos of work. Might meet some of the local riders one day.

I have one of my crew off to go down with the CFS, I (Onesteel) still pay him as if he was here at work, good deal I think

here in west most fires started by government depts ,westwern power ,calm, i got badly injured as a volunteer 16 years ago ,got nothing for it ,i always feel for fireys ,but fuck the people who start em , good luck to those involved
