    Hi All,

On a stock FXST with S&S slip-ons, is there much point in upgrading the air intake?

    cheers

By air intake do you mean a high flow filter kit>? If so then yes mate, will add a few ponies and be noticeably more responsive

You will need to upgrade the ecu settings though, if it's a late model. You can try a K&N hiflow standard shape air filter that will fit into the stock air box, if you're wanting to save some pennies and you might get away without having to upgrade the ECU.   If you're only after a bit of exhaust noise, keep it as it is, unless it's already backfiring on decelerate then you need to have it upgraded anyway as it's running a bit lean and running lean on an air cooled donk is a good way to trash the top end.  If that's the case,  you may have to give Santa a blow job......

Whats my downside by trying a K&N standard shape air filter?
