Thought I'd start a new thread as the issue of heat hasn't come up. I always run BP 98 where possible but recently had to fill up with some 95, Gull, I think (Gingers). It was a good 38 degrees and my Rocker pinged like buggery when I open the throttle hard. I couldn't believe how tinny the sound was. I was looking for some flying road metal bouncing off my paintwork!!!

Next day, with same fuel still in tank, 2 up and only 22 degrees it ran perfectly. Some mates had the same problem on the Nullarbor with low octane fuel, over 40 degrees and 96 inch motors.  I'm still experimenting with this but will stick with BP98 until I can justify otherwise. I figure I might get a few more km per tank.
