Neva thought I would ever say this, but well done SA Roads for installing biker safe barriers on the Gorge Rd, with a state roll out to replace all barriers in the future. This is a personal one for me after seeing my brother in an induced coma for a week, due to horrendousinjuries to his chest after a tussle with the Amco. The MRA has been lobbiyng the Government for years, to lift their 'ken game on road side barriers! I feel it is a timely reminder boys and girls, that lobbying can make a difference, we can and will defeat the anti association laws, if we have the will to fight.
recently rode Caboolture - Sydney - Albury - Bendigo - Melbourne - Adelaide and noticed a hell of a lot of WRB going up, especially in NSW. There is WRB everywhere.
When I was actively involved with MRAWA we pushed hard to have WA remove WRB, however no one would listen. They have been rolling out WRB in a big way there too.
For those interested, there is an excellent info PDF file, with pic'ies and research data, on the manufactures web site.
Just google BASYC Protection Systems. This system has been used in Spain for two years, ( probably used at the Running of the Bulls!). Bit of a release detailing the Gorge Road plan at Transport SA, latest news and initiatives links.
Bit of a search for ya, but had trouble finding good one off photos that give justice to the system. My brothers doin' fine by the way, has since fallen off twice more! His fractures total is now at 28, mine is a feeble 18!
Yep have been fighting the good fight against the 'Man' for over 20 years, to the gentleman that asked, have been on more protest runs and lobby committees than I want to admit to without reveal'n me age!
The truth, as I have discovered after all these years of hard ride'n, is contained within the quote, "Cars move the body, but motorcycles move the soul"
Good to see they're recycling plastic bottles also (Polyethylene terephthalate (PET)). Looks like such a simple system to istall as well
