Any room in ya suitcase for an old house trained biker
I last bought self-adhesive kevlar about 10 years ago from Bainbridge Aquabatten in Sydney, the sail fabric suppliers. As it is/was used in bullet-proof jackets I have heard that you need a licence to sell it! I still use small pieces of kevlar in some of my kites to stop the carbon spar from
punching through the nose in a heavy crash. I don't have enough to spare or I would sell you some.
I also use a very strong thread on kite-surfing kites which has to withstand the pressure of inflated bladders (like inner tubes). You can't break this stuff by hand! I think you can only get it in 1000m rolls but if you send me your name and address I will be happy to wind up several
meters onto a bit of card and send it as a Xmas present! The tailor can use the same needle as the regular threads.
We had our bike jackets made in Bali in 03 and they are still like new. Had to ask for extra heavy leather for the winter cold which they don't get much in Legian!
The missus also bought Thai silk in Phuket and had a dress and skirts made in Bali this year much cheaper than in Thailand. She just takes a sample. Our tailor is right next door to the pub !!!!! I just LOVE lots of fittings!!! )
