    Hi all,

I am wondering if anyone in Canberra would like to have a go at making a custom sissy bar for me, I am happy to help but not that good at welding.  Been looking around the internet and not much grabs my interest, everything looks the same.

Or maybe someone knows of a custom sissy bar maker here in OZ that will not charge over $400 to bend some metal.  Ever notice that as soon as you say  "Harley" people think you can afford mega bucks for parts, OK I am being sarcastic now or maybe old age is setting in .

Has anyone done there own sissy bar? would love to hear or see some pics.

    Cheers.

ive got the sissy bar but when looking at it instead of bending and welding get it profile cut out of plate the same thickness should be cheaper and eaiser the same with the luggage rack and then just heat and bend it up a little and then weld the tags on might be a wee bit thicker just be a bit creative in the cuts to lighten it lol

didn't like the height of the standard one so I took to it with the angle grinder and shortened it up by 2 inches and had it rechromed, looks better now...

    Hey Mate,

I had mine made when the dollar was strong by a bloke on ebay.
You can check out his stuff here.

I've got a 3 foot custom he made for me on the back of my bob and I love it.
Stupidly though, I bought Harley brackets before hand and it's a round sissy.

Still fits alright (with some padding), but I'd reccomend getting him to do the whole set-up.

    PS.
When designing the bar, I didn't take into account where my girlfriend's tail-bone would sit...
I don't really care, as the bike looks awesome... it just means I have to put up with her complaining.
