Hi All

I purchased a 2007 fatty with a 2007 sert.
The sert is married to the bike (so I am told).

The sert had no cables so i used the cables i had off my 2005 sert

My computer recognises the sert but  is unable to connect to the ecm.

Is there any difference on the cables used to coonect to the ecm from the sert for sert models 2005 and 2007

Don't mean to state the obvious, but are you plugged in to to the diagnostic port ?

There is usually another 4 pin Deutsch plug that is identical. You need the one with 3 wires . Easy mistake.

I will check the run switch ( though i thought i did check that)

and recheck the connector and advise of the results

I finally managed to get my sert working.
the dealer used their cables on my sert and on data load it worked
when they tried it first with my cables it didnt work
i exchanged each cable from theirs to mine one at a time to try to find which of my cables was faulty
after exchanging both the sert was still working
I conncted the sert at home with my laptop
and now it works
just to let anyone else who may have this problem
